The KMMS130RPS microwave has been a good microwave for the month or so has been in my kitchen. It has plenty of room inside and blends well with my other appliances. Additionally, the exhaust fan is much more powerful than my previous microwave. There is quite a steep learning curve on the operation of this microwave because it works quite differently than others I have owned. The fact that it comes with only summary instructions is not helpful™"I finally went to the KitchenAid site and downloaded an operation manual, which helped tremendously. Only other problem to mention is the volume level (even when set on high) of the notification tone,

Overall modern and streamlined appearance. Nice assortment of function buttons. Provides very low lighting for over the range, very disappointing. I have had to purchase additional lighting to see what I™™m cooking. Would expect brighter lighting for an over-the-range microwave. Overall loud when in use due to the venting.

Works great but two things that would make it better: 1) a handle would make the door easier to open by allowing your whole hand to be used, also the built-in notch in the lower corner that serves as a handle over time seems it would twist the door. 2) For the price point we expected a higher cooking watt.

I find the controls are difficult to understand. I first could not figure out how to open the door, It's awkward to push a button to open the door, why not a relief under the edge? Pushing the button multiple times to turn off the light? Still don't use any of the automatic features, no DIRECDTIONS?

So far very happy with the microwave. My one complaint, if you can call it that, is that the volume of the beep even at the max is very low. I wouldn™™t want it to blast, but slightly louder would be good. Other than that, the size is adequate and the button features are very useful.

Just had it installed and used it twice and now it trips my breaker. I reset the breaker and tried heating something up and control panel went black. I opened and closed the door then i could hear crackling/sizzling sound and it was not running. Had to unplug it in fear its going to burn down my house.

There are no sounds notifications when food is done. The timer sounds is barely audible - basically non existent it seems unless your ear is right under it, and even then barely audible. VERY disappointed in this. And yes, I tuned it to the highest volume and it made no difference. I love the microwave but having no sounds from it is really a disappointment.

This microwave looks nice and I like some of the features my old microwave did not have. Like a melt feature, the reheat feature, and the buttons to quickly use the microwave for 1, 2, or 3 minutes. This model is spacious and I think it was a good upgrade for my older model KitchenAid microwave.

Microwave is of good size for various sized containers. The outside is not difficult to clean but shows fingerprints and water marks are very apparent. Buttons can be difficult to navigate but overall the oven works extremely well and is very quiet.

I really like our Kitchen Aid microwave. It's worked as expected, and the features available are what you would expect with the model level across brands. It's easy to clean and on the quiet side compared to our old one. I like the music it plays at the end of cooking because before with just a beep, you sometimes could miss that it went off. I wish that there were the express cook buttons for more than just 1-3 minutes. I would like if there was an option to do that for 4 and 5 minutes (our old micro had that), as I do quite a bit of frozen vegetable packs that tend to be in that range. I recommend this product as it works well and has good features for the price point.

The 1.9 Cu. Ft. Microwave is a good product. It is very easy to keep clean. We have not had any problems preheating, thawing or cooking. The timer setting are quite nice. The only two items that we wish were adjust are the high sound volume of the ventilation fan, in all three settings and the too quietness of the chime indicating the timer has timed out. We have the chime at full volume.

I bought this to replace the 8 year old Kitchen aid microwave. The ceramic tile backsplash dictated that the replacement was the exact same size as previous model. Installation was easy and I was even able to use the old mounting plate. The reason I gave 4 stars is the lights underneath are too dim to illuminate the stove below it. I had the same complaint with the old one as well.

I purchased this model to replace my previous 8 y.o. KitchenAid microwave. The ceramic backsplash dictated that I go with one the exact same size as before. Installation was easy and even was able to use the old backing plate. The reason for the 4 star review is the lighting underneath is so dim, even on high. These are obviously LED bulbs, so heat shouldn't be an issue if you go with a higher wattage. I had the same complaint with the previous model as well, but that had the old school incandescent bulb.

If you enjoy hot soup and being able to make spontaneous decisions about dinner based on what is in your freezer this microwave is the one for you. My Kitchenaid microwave heats evenly so that food comes out without hot or cold spots. Forget to take out what you are cooking for dinner? The defrost function will take care of that for you. As far as cleanup, this microwave is a dream- just wipe with a damp clothe after a spill and evidence of it is gone!

Good microwave. Reheats food evenly. Preheat function works well. Capacity is a little bit small but it™™s comfortable for my every day use. The ventilation option is a bit weak in my opinion but this function is similar in all micro hoods. Cleaning is a bit of a hassle since the piano black gets dirty easily with oil and fingerprints.

Oven heats food well, easy to use, attractive unit. The two negatives are that the maximum volume of the beep at the end of the cook time is very quiet; and frequently when trying to enter the cook time and then the power level, it often doesn't proceed to the power level step but stays on cook time. So you have to press cancel and start over. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Great addition to my other KitchenAid. Only complaint I have is when you set the power level. Instead of pressing 5 for 50% or 3 for 30% etc, as you would with any other microwave I have ever used, you must put the full power amount (50 for 50, 30 for 30 etc). Not a deal breaker, but more of an oddity. Other than that, it's a great microwave.

The KitchenAid microwave we purchased last June 2025 has many beneficial features. The 30 second button is our favorite. The defrost feature is tailored to the item you want to defrost which is a plus. The only drawback to this microwave is the fan feature which is automatically triggered everytime you use the appliance, even for 30 seconds. The fan is loud and not a fan favorite.

It was some helpful features, like melt and auto defrost. However, the sequence to cook food and less than 100% requires too many steps and can be confusing. Also, the automatic popcorn feature does not work well. It has a very short popping time and leaves too many kernels untouched at the end.

My brand new Kitchen Aide Microwave worked 2 times and them stopped. The customer service was horrible. They made me have a technician come our 4 different times to replace parts rather than install a new microwave. I was without a microwave for over 30 days.

The microwave works great, my biggest issue is the touch buttons don't always work if you push too hard.

Spacious and quiet microwave

The microwave is spacious and very quiet when running. The style is neat. The fan is pretty loud. The chime indicating the food is done is really a soft sound and I think I have it turned up as loud as it can go. Overall, quality Kitchen Aid product so far.

Everything I expected and more!

I am totally satisfied with the features and performance of my microwave it has a soft touch features and it's warms up my food cook's food very well. It holds a decent capacity of food. The ventilation is great, and it's very easy to clean and haven't I used it yet to preheat food, but the consistency of the food preparedness When using the microwave seems to be right on time.
